Chicken Sliders on Jicama ‘Buns’
These little sliders are super-tasty and packed full of flavor! The jicama 'buns' add a unique twist and a fun crunch!

Did you know... Low in calories but high in vital nutrients, jicama is an excellent source of fiber and vitamin C.
Adjust serving size: 


  • 10 oz ground chicken
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup white onion chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper - any color chopped fine
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 roma tomato sliced
  • 1 cup mixed greens
  • 1 large jicama - at least 4” diameter peeled and sliced thin

How to Make:

  1. Prepare the grill for cooking using medium-heat. You may also cook the burgers in a skillet on the stove. For this option, preheat a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Place the ground chicken into a medium-size mixing bowl; add the oil, onion, cilantro, garlic and seasonings and mix until evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  3. Shape into 4 {2.5 oz} patties, about 4” in diameter each.
  4. Grill the burgers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the burgers are fully cooked. They’re small so they’ll cook quickly.
  5. Top the sliders with sliced tomato & greens, then serve in jicama ‘buns’.
